The Owner Of The Five Storied Building In Kandy Which Collapsed Last Week Killing An Infant Girl And Her Parents ,Had Been Arrested And Remanded

Kandy Police had today (29)arrested the
owner of the  five storied  illegal building which had  fallen on to a house and a  hotel at Sangamiththa Road in Buwelikada ,Kandy killing one and half month old infant girl and her parents ,last week .

The suspect who was the former Basnayaka Nilame of Natha Devalaya, Kandy, Anura Lewke was remanded  until 13 th of October by the Kandy Magistrate Court after he had been  produced before the court by Kandy Police .

Kandy Police had requested the suspect who was charged over fleeing from the collapsed five storied building with his family without informing other residents on the incident ,to appear before Police today and later he was arrested it has Been revealed.

Kandy Police are investigating over the incident. 

Attorney General Informed Supreme Court That The Government Has Decided To Introduced New Amendments To 20 th Amendment

Attorney General Dappula De Livera
had today (29)informed the five member Judge Panel considering the petitions filed against 20 th amendment to the constitution that the government has decided to introduce new amendments to the proposed  Amendment during committe level.

Attorney General had informed on governments decision when the five member Judge Panel had taken in to consideration the 39 petitions filed against 20 th amendment today.

The list imcluding the new amendments will be submitted to the court through a special motion attorney General had informed the court through his lawyers.

Meanwhile lawyers representing petitioners had requested the judge panel to provide these new amendments to the 20 th amendment for their clients, which was accepted by the Judge panel and requested the Attorney General to do so .

Meanwhile 08 intermediate petitions were also submitted to the Supreme Court requesting a chance for them to provide facts regarding the 20 th amendment. 

39 Petitions Filed At Supreme Court Challanging 20 Th Amendment

39 petitions had been  filed at the
Supreme Court challenging the proposed 20 th Amendment submitted to the Parliament by government, upto yesterday  (28).

Accordingly 06 petitions including the youth wing of  main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya Party, General Secretary of United National Party Akila Viraj Kariyawasam ,Deputy leader of United National Party Ruwan Wijewardane, Member of the National Election Commission Professor Rathnajeewan Hoole ,Sri Lanka press institute and People's Lawyers Association had filed petitions against the 20th Amendment yesterday (28).

Twenty Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Today (29)

A total of 20 Corona positives had been
discharged from hospitals today (29)after full recovery according to Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly these Corona positives had been discharged from National Infectious Diseases Hospital ,Angoda ,Welikanda Base ,Hambanthota and Iranawila Hospitals the unit has stated.

Up to now 3230 Corona positives had been discharged from Government Hospitals after full recocery. At the moment 131 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.
