Three Persons Killed Due To Three Wheeler -Lorry Collision

Three Persons were killed due to a
Three Wheeler -Lorry collision at Divurumpitiya area on Ratnapura -Awissawella main road today (16)it has been reported.

The critically injured three persons including the three wheeler driver and two Passangers travelled in the Three Wheeler  ran   from Awissawella to Ranaputa had succumbed to their injured on admission to Awissawella Base Hospital.


The incident occurred when the Lorry collided with the rare part of the Three wheeler. Awissawella police have arrested the Lorry driver regarding the incident and he  is due to be produced before the court .

Nine Corona Positives Had Been Rwpordx Yesterday (15)

A total of 09 Corona positives had been
reported yesterday (15)increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 3271 according to Epidemeolgy Unit .

Accordingly All Corona positives reported yesterday were foreign arrivals and among first three positives announced there were 02 arrivals from United Arab Emirates and 01 arrival from Kuwait. However the identity of the last six corona positives had not given according to reports.

At the moment 237 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.

Eleven Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From.Hospitals Today (15)

A total of 11 Corona positives had been discharged from three government  hospitals today  (15)after full recovery
,increasing the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals so far to 3016 according to Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly these Corona positives had been discharged from Infectious Diseases Hospital. at Angoda ,Welikanda Base Hospital and Iranawila Hospital.

At the moment 244 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.

Former MP Ruwan Wijewardane Has Been Elected As The Deputy Leader Of UNP

Former MP of United National Party 
(UNP) Ruwan Wijewardane had been elected as the new Deputy Leader of the Party through a secret ballot held at the Working committee  meeting held at UNP Headquarters in Colombo yesterday  (14).

During the secret ballot Ruwan Wijewardane had received 28 votes whilst his opponent former UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake had received 10 votes.

However UNP Leader Ranil Wikramasinghe is due to remain as the leader of UNP until next January.
