Twelve Corona positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Today (14)

A total of 12 Corona positives had been
discharged from hospitals today  (14)after full recovery ,increasing the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals to 2658 according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Meanwhile at the moment 92.1 percent out of the total number of Corona positives reported in the country had been recovered and the Corona death rate of the country too had dropped to 0.38 percent it has been reported.

However as a risk of spreading Corona virus in the country still prevails in  ,people are being advised by EpidemeologIsts  to follow corona prevention health guidelines including wearing a mask when using public transport and going to public places, further. 

Four Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (14)- Epidemeology Unit

Four Corona Positives had been
reported  in the country today (14)according to the Epidemeology Unit.


  • Accordingly three arrivals from United Arab Emirates (UAE) and another and arrival From Japan had tested positive for Corona virus whilst on quarantine at quarantine Centers ,increasing the total number of Corona positives reported in the country to 2886 the Unit has stated.


At the moment 217 Corona positives are being treated in Government  Hospitals. 

Secretaries Had Been Appointed To 28 Cabinet Ministries

New Secretaries had been appointed to
28 Cabinet Ministries by the  President Gotabaya Rajapakshe Yesterday (13) and today  (14).

Accordingly  25 Ministry Secretaries had been appointed yesterday and 03 were appointed today .The biggest change made by the President when appointing Ministry Secretaries is appointing Director General of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe as the Secretary to the Ministry of Enviornment.

Among those Ministry Secretaries that had been appointed are Retired Admiral Jayanath Kolambage as Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Retired Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe as the Secretary to the Ministry of Health, Professor Kapila Gunawardane has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry  of Buddhasasana and religious Affairs     and Retired Major General Kamal Gunaratna as the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense.

All Universities Are Due To Open This Momday (17)



Academic Activities of All Universities  in the island which were suspended in last March following the shut down of Univeraities due to the Corona pandamic ,are schedled to begin on  this Monday (17) according to the chairman of University Grants Commission Professor Sampath Amarathunga.

Accordingly All the universities will  open on coming Monday  and carrying out functions according to the Corona prevention health guidelines issued by the Health Ministry.

The third and final year exams of All medical Faculties had been conducted successfully since last Juy as planned he had Stressed during a press conference held at Government Information Department this noon(14).

Online classes conducted for some  University Students during pandamic proved as successfull  he has stated .

A 16 Year Old School.Boy At Rajanganaya Area Suspected As Infected With Corona Virus -86 Of His Contacts Are Being Quarantined

As Health authorities have  suspected 
A 16 year old School boy at Yaya -05 area in Rajanganaya ,Anuradhapura is being  infected with Corona  virus , he along with 86  close contacts of him are being self quarantined today (13)  it has been revealed. 

Accordingly 50 students of the suspected corona positive and 06 teachers as well as 30 persons living around his house are being self quarantined. 

The suspected student had tested positive for Corona virus when the first "PCR " test performed on him and tested negative in the second test it has been revealed .

Now health authorities are awaiting the result of the third "PCR "performed on him according to reports .
