Kalutara ,Colombo ,Gampaha And Puttalam Districts Identified As High Risk Zones For Spreading Corona Virus -Director General Of Health Services

Kaluthara ,Colombo ,Gampaha and
Puttalam Districts are being further identified as the high risk Zones of spreading the Corona virus epidemic in Sri Lanka according to the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe.

As a result three Hospitals are being allocated for Kalutara ,Colombo and Gampaha Districts and a center for Puttalam Districts to provide treatment for corona virus suspected cases reported from these Districts under isolation he has stated .

Accordingly Minuwangoda Base Hospital has been allocated for Gampaha District, Beruwala District Hospital for Kalutara District and Homagama Base Hospital for Colombo District has been allocated treating these suspected cases. The voice of America facility in Iranawila  is scheduled to be allocated for Puttalam District for treating suspected cases within two days time according to Dr.Jasinghe.

A separate quarantine center for quarantine corona virus suspected cases is being established in Homagama area he has further stated . 

Third Corona Virus Death Reported From Sri Lanka

The third Corona Virus positive Death
has been reported from Sri Lanka  shortwhile ago as a 72 year old person who had Been transferred to Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in Angoda from a quarantine Center today (01)died whilst receiving treatment at the hospital according to Epidemeology Unit.

The deceased who was a resident of Maradana area in Colombo had been confirmed as a  corona virus positive today whilst undergoing a  quarantine process  and transferred to IDH Hospital as a result .

With the 04 Sri Lankans who had died in England  (02),Switzerland  (01) and USA (01) after being tested positive for Corona virus 07 Sri Lankans had died from the virus up to now .

Three Corona Positives Reported Today (01)Whilst Four Positives Were recovered And Discharged

Three Corona Virus positives had been
identified from Sri Lanka  within today (01) until now increasing the total number of positives identified from Sri Lanka to 146  according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Four corona virus positives who had received treatment at Government Hospitals had been discharged today the Unit has stated  .Up to now 21 coroma virus positives had recovered and discharged from Hospitals.

Another 126 corona virus positives are being received treatment at 03  government Hospitals including the National Infectious Diseases Hospital  (IDH) at Angoda  at present  and 231 corona virus suspected cases  (229 locals and 02 foreigners )are being treated at 25 government Hospitals according to the latest situation report issued by the Epidemeology Unit.

Up to now majority of the Corona virus positives which is 32  have been reported from Colombo District and 34 from quarantine Centers.

There were 02 deaths reported from. SRI Lanka due to Corona virus and altogether 06 Sri Lankans have died from.corona virus infection up to now .Two of the deceased died in England and one person each died in Switzerland and USA respectively .

The Grace period provided for  those who had arrived from Overseas from 16-19 th of March to register at the nearest Police station  for quarantine  on corona virus , had ended at 12 noon today (01 )according to the Director of the Legal Division of Police Headquarters  Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) Ajith Rohana.

Those who had failed to register at the nearest Police station during the grace period  for quarantine will be punished according to the quarantine laws  He has stated.
