Those Who Have Violated Quarantine And Curfew rules To Be Sentenced To A 02 Year Rigorous Imprisonment

Those who have violated  quarantine
rules and curfew could  be sentenced a 02 year rigorous imprisonment and a fine according to Director of the legal section of Police Headquarters Deputy Inspector General Of Police Ajith Rohana.

Those who had arrived from corona virus hit Italy and some other countries had put the whole country in trouble by avoiding quarantine process he has stressed.

Meanwhile Army Commander General Shavendra De Silva has said mire than 3000 persons arrived from foreign  countries are undergoing a 14 day quarantine period in 22 quarantine Centers at present .A section of the pilgrims who had been brought to Sri Lanka through a special Sri Lankan Airiness flight few days ago are among them.

Two Prison Inmates Had Been Killed And Three Injured Due To A Clash Between Prisoners And Officers At Anuradhapura Prison

Two prison inmates had been killed
and three others had been injured and hospitalized after  prison Officers had shot them  to control  a tense situation occurred among prisoners attached to Anuradhapura Prison this evening  (21).

A tense situation occurred among prisoners of the Anuradhapura prison after one prison inmate had been suspected as infected with Corona Virus and as  a result a  tense situation occurred among prison inmates and fire had erupted in the Prison premises it has been reported .

Prison inmates became violent when the Prison Officers had attempted to control the situation and as a result prison Officers had shot five inmates according to reports .

The injured inmates had been admitted to Anuradhapura General Hospital where two of them had succumbed to their injuries .

Prisoners had attempted to escape from the Prison, However it had been prevented by the Anuradhapura Police, Riot Police and Special Police Task Force Personal arrived in there .


Police Have Arrested 180 Persons Over Violating The Curfew In Several Areas

Polce have arrested 180 persons who
had  violated  the ongoing idlsnd wide curfew during the period 6 p.m last evening (20) until 9 p.m today (21).

These suspects had been arrested over the charges of having a party , playing in sports  grounds ,walking on the road under the influence of liquor ,involved in trade activities and travelling in vehicles during the curfew hours throughout the island.

Around eight persons had been arrested in Bandarawela over having a party during the curfew and one at haputale over opening a shop for trade activities it has been reported .

Except Colombo, Gampaha And Puttalam Districts Curfew To Be Lifted in.Other Districts on Monday Morning

Government has decided to extend the
island wide curfew imposed in Colombo ,Gampaha and Puttalam Districts for another day until 6 a.m Tuesday morning (24) and to lift the curfew in all other Districts at 6 a.m on Monday (23)Presidential Secretariet had announced this evening .

Earlier Government has announced the curfew imposed islsnd wide from 6 p.m last evening (20) to prevent the spreading of Corona virus will be lifted at 6 a.m on Monday morning.

The curfew scheduled  to be lifted in Colombo ,Gampaha and Puttalam Districts at  6 a.m on Tuesday will be re imposed in same day from 2 p.m onwards it has been reported.

The curfew imposed in other districts scheduled to be lifted  on Monday at 6 a.m and  will be re imposed again at 2.p.m in the same  evening Until 6 a.m on Tuesday.

The lifting of curfew in all Districts to be announced shortly according to the government .Government has ordered to remain closed all liquor shops throughout the island whenever the curfew is being lifted .

The curfew had been imposed by the government in.view of tracing more than 1000 persons who came from corona virus hit Italy recently and avoid self quarantine process and to prevent people from social gathering.
