President Has Announced Price Reduction Of Dhal And Canned Fish Amidst Corona Fear During His Address To The Nation

(17)President Gotabaya Rajapakshe has announced a price reduction of Deal and Canned fish with effect from midnight last night (17)amidst corona virus fear .

Accordingly President Rajapakshe has stated that the price of a Kilo Gramme of Dhal has been reduced to Rs.65 and the price of Canned fish to Rs.100.

He has also stated that the  state banks will halt the business loan repayments for a six month period .

President has urged the public to assist the programme launched by the government to combat the spreading of Corona Virus .

However due to Corona virus threat the Election will not be postponed and go ahead as scheduled he has stressed .Government Cannot maintain without passing a budget and when the government had attempted. Validity Period Of Expired Driving Licences To Be Extended

The Validity period of All driving

licences which expired from 16th of March to 15 th of April will be extended to 30 th of May according to the Motor Traffic Department.

This decision has been taken due to the prevailing situation of the country. 

Validity Period Of Visas Issued To Foreign Tourists In The Country To Be Extended

The Validity period of All types of Visas issued to  foreign

tourists who are currently in Sri Lanka to be extended for a 30 day period as Sri Lanka is limited activities in many sectors to prevent the spreading of Corona Virus according to the Immigration and Emigration Department.

Accordingly The visas of foreign tourists will be extended from 14 th of March to 12 th of April it has been announced .

Those who want to get their visas extended need to go to the visa section of Immigration and Emigration Department at the "Sethsiripaya" "building, Battaramulla on either 08th or 09 th of April  after paying visa fees .

Those who are planning to leave the country can pay the extended visa fees to the Katunayake International Airport before their departure the immigration and Emigration Controller has stated.
