Sri Lanka are scheduled to be suspended for a two week period with effect from midnight tomorrow night (18) to avoid spreading of Corona Virus here the President's Media Unit has announced today (17).

This decision has been taken during the Anti Corona Task Force Meeting  held under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapakshe at President's House in Colombo today .

Earlier in the day Civil Aviation Authority has announced all arrivals from Qatar ,Bahrain and Canada to the country will be suspended with effect from today (1.

Total Number Of Corona Virus Positives Identified In Sri Lanka Arisen To 44

The total number of Corona virus

positives reported from Sri Lanka had been risen by 15 today (17)from 29 to 44 patients according to the Health Ministry sources.

Among these newly identified Corona virus patients the wife of the Second Sri Lankan Corona virus positive identified here who is  a Tourist guide ,A 25 year old residents of Udugampala who had returned from Qatar, two persons residing in Kelaniya and Marawila and a relative of a Sri Lanka corona virus positive visited Germany.

Most of these patients are being treated at Infectious Diseases Hospital in Angoda according to Ministry.

Government has declared a special

three day public and Mercantile holiday from tomorrow  (17)until  this Thursday (19)in view of the spreading of Corona virus here .

Accordingly this holiday will be given to all State owned Department and Corporation employees  except those attached to Health Services, Banks ,Food supply ,Government agent /District secretariets and essential services Electricity and water boards according to the government.

Government has declared today as a Government, Bank and Mercantile Holiday.
