Attorney General Had Ordered Acting IGP To Arrest 12 Persons Including MP Ravi Karunanayake Over Central Bank Bond Scam

had today (03)ordered the Acting Inspector General Of Police  (IGP ) Chandana Wikramaratna to arrest 12 persons including United National Party MP Ravi Karunanayake, Former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran, Owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysius ,Chairman of Perpetual Treasuries Geoffrey Aloysius and Chief Executive officer Kasun Palisena after obtaining an arrest warrant from the court over their involvement in Central Bank Bond Scam occurred on 27th of February 2015 .

Attorney General had ordered to arrest these officials over criminally using  of treasury bonds and criminally  controlling the money market.

 Attorney General has already filed cases against few officers over involving  in Central Bank Bond scam.

working in Italy  has been identified as the First Sri Lankan  infected with Corona Virus known as Covid -19  today at a hospital in Italy(03).

The Sri Lankan female who is a resident of Handapangoda  area and working as a house maid in Italy has been tested positive for corona virus after being admitted to a hospital in Brasica area it has been repoeted .

However according to the Sri lanka's foreign Ministry the condition of the Sri lankan female in Italy is stable .

Twenty Two University Students Had Been Remanded Over Conducting a Sathyagraha Campaign

Colombo Chief Magistrate Court had

yesterday (02)remanded 22 university students attached to Inter University Students Federation  (IUSF) including the convener of IUSF Venerable Rathkarawwe Jinarathne thero until 16 th of March over involved in a Sathyagraha campaign in front of Higher Education Ministry in Ward Place colimbo by obstructiNG public and violating a court order .

The suspected students had been arrested by the police last Sunday and produced before the Chief Magistrate Court yesterday.

The students had protested since last Thursday demanding solutions to several demands including issues in Ruhunu university .
