Permits Issued To Transport Sand,Soil,Granite and Rubble Had Been Abolished

Cabinet has today (04)decided to
abolish the permits issued when transporting sand,Soil ,Granite and Rubble in view of reducing the prices of those  items.

This decision has been taken at a Cabinet briefing held at President's office under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapakshe according to the Minister of Enviornment and Wild Life Resources S.M Chandrasena .

Several Villages In Badulla Submerged Due To A Overflowing Of Badulu Oya

Several villages attached to  Badulla
District had been submerged as a result OF  overflowing  Badulu Oya (River)it has been reported .

Accordingly several villages including Sumanathissagama,Hagoda ,Hinguragamuwa and kailagoda are two feet underwater by this noon following the overflowing of Badulu Oya.

People living  in those villages had been evacuated due to the according to the reports .

Passara -Badulla Road Temporarily Closed Down Due To Landslides

Passara-Badulla main road had been
temporarily closed down as a result of Landslides occurred in several areas including Gonagala higher mountain attached to the road according to Police .
Transport activities of A-9 road at Badulla -Batticaloa too closed down due to the landslides and Motorists are being advised to use an alternative routes when travelling .

New Governors Of Easrern And North Central Provinces Had Been Sworn In

Yahampath and former Minister Professor Thissa Vitharana had been sworn in as new Governors of Eastern and North Central Provinces respectively this evening (04) before President Gotabaya Rajapakshe .

The swearing in ceremony was held at President's office in Colombo .Earlier six new Governors had been sworn in before president .

The Governor post of the Northern province still remains vaccant .
