Badulla -Colombo Main Road Closed Near 155th Kilo Meter Post Due To A Soil Mound Collapse

Police have temporarily closed down
the Badulla -Colombo main road near 155 th Kilo meter post at Balangoda ,Seelagama area last evening (05)due to a soil mound collapse .

The soil mound had collapsed to the Balangoda ,Seelagama area of the Badulla -Colombo main road near the 155 th Kilo meter post and a heavy traffic prevailed in the area last evening as a result.

Road development Authority had removed the soil mound last night ,However Police have advised the Motorists travelling from Colombo to Badulla not to use the road due to the risk of falling soil mounds amd rocks to the road  . 

Thirty Persons Injured Due To Bus -Tipper Collision

Thirty passangers including Two
Buddhist Monks had been injured and hospitalized due to a Private Bus-Tipper Truck collision occurred at Kudaoya -Aliwanguwa area in Thanamalwila main road last evening (05)..

Accordingly twenty nine bus passangers including two Buddhist Monks and the Tipper Truck driver had been injured and hospitalized due to the incident .

The Private Bus was travelling from Matara to Monaragala and The Tipper Truck was travelling from Wellawaya to Thanamalwila area at the time of the incident according to Thanamalwila police .

Government To Sign The Millenium Challange coporation Agreement Aftet the Election

Government has decided to sign the
proposed Millenium Challange Corporation Agreement  which is being heavily criticized by the opposition , with United States Of America(After the Presidential Election with parliamentery approval
Accordingly Government has decided to submit the agreement to the Parliament for it's approval after the Presidential Election .

After receiving the Parliamentery approval the Millenium Challange Corporation Agreement will be signed between Government of Sri Lanka and United States Of America .

Cabinet has last week approved the Agreement ,However president Maithripala Sirisena urged the Government not to sign the agreement before the forthcoming  presidential election .


  • However it has been revealed that former President Mahinda Rajapakshe has also attempted  to sign the Millenium Challange Corporation Agreement with USA during his regime .

Cabinet Dicussed On Present Gas Shortage Of The Country

The Gas Shortage prevailing in the
country at present is being subjected to lengthy discussion during the Cabinet meeting held today (05)  ar Presidents Office .

As a result of limiting the  transporting  of Gas to other countries  by Saudi Arabia Following the drone attacks against one of it's oil refineries reçently there's a delay of arriving ships carrying Gas to the country Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera has told the Cabinet .

However few ships carrying LP Gas are on the way to Sri Lanka he has stressed .
Agriculture Minister P.Harrison has told today (05)during a press briefing that the present Gas shortage will be eased during this week as  few Gas ships are due arrrive in Sri Lanka in coming days .

Meanwhile heavy queues had seen in front of Gas sale centers in the country during today as well .
