Five Persons Arrested With 1050 Kilo Grammes Of Beedi Leaves

Central Naval command had arrested five persons whilst transporting 1050 Kilo Grammes of Beedi leaves stacked in 30 parcels  in two Dinghy Boats at Southern Thalaimannar sea area today (05).

Navy Personal had  taken two dinghy boats in  custody for imvestigations .

Five suspects who are of the ages 19-44  years and residents of Thalpadu area in Mannar along with the stock of Beedi leaves and two dinghy boats had been handed over to the customs office in Jaffna for further investigations .

Elder Brother Of Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe Deposited Money To Contest For The Presidential Election

Mahinda Rajapakshe former Speaker Chamal Rajapakshe had deposited money at National Election Commission today (04) to contest for the forthcoming Presidential Election .

The former Speaker had deposited the money to contest the presidential election as a member of a unregistered political party it has been revealed .

Meanwhile soon after receiving Court of Appeal's verdict over the petition filed against Gotabaya Rajapakshe Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe and MP Wimal.Weerawansha have streesed that depositing money by Chamal Rajapakshe  to contest for the presidential election was a back up plan .

Podujana Peramuna had taken the decision to deposit money behalf of Chamal Rajapakshe's candidacy an hours before the Court's verdict is to replace Gotabaya Rajapakshe if he loose today's court battle it has been revealed .
