Fifty Five Female Tea Estate Workers Had Been Injured Due To Wasp Attacks

Fifty five Female Tea Estate Workers
attached to Two Tea Estates in Bagawanthalawa Police Division had been injured and Hospitalized due to Wasp Attacks this morning  (06).

The injured Female Workers had been admitted to the Bagawanthalawa Provincial Hospital for teatment. The Wasp Attacks occurred due to the provoking of Wasps in Wasp nests on Tea plants of the two Estates namely "Linford "  and "Carcuswall "whilst the workers were plucking tea leaves .

Thirty five Tea Estate Workers attached to Linford Tea Estate and Twenty attached to Carcuswall Estate among the injured it has been revealed.

Meanwhile Bagawanthalawa Police have informed all Tea Estate Superintendent's in the Bagawanthalawa area to remove Wasp nests in Tea Estates without destroying them.

Three Females Had Been Injured Due To A Brawl Incident Among Two Groups

Three females had been injured and
hospitalized two of them critcally due to a brawL occurred among two groups regarding  a personal dispute last night (05) at Dilliya area in Thissamaharama .

The injured had been admitted to  the   Hambanthota Base Hospital and two of the critically injured had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for further treatment it has been revealed.

 The incident occurred when a group of persons equipped with swords ,Knives and poles had entered a house and assaulted them last night.

Police have not taken any action against the two groups who had fight each other over a personal dispute although complaints were there according to residents.

THISSAMAHARAMA Police have arrested three Persons over the incident.  Dilliya area  is an area  popular for drug Smugglers and liquor traders according to reports .

As Prima And Serendib Companies Increased The Flour Price Bread Price Too Increased

Prima and Serendib Flour Companies have increased the price of a Kilo Gramme of Wheat Flour by Rs.5.50 with effective from today  (06).

Accordingly All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association has decided to increase the price of a 450 Gramme loaf of Bread by Rs.2 with effective from midnight tonight  (06)the president of the Association N, K Jayawardana has announced.

However Consumer Affairs Authority has stressed that the increasing  of Wheat Flour  and Bread prices is illegal and this has been done without getting a permission from the Authority .

Island Wide raids  will be carried out to search the traders who are selling flour for higher prices according  to reports
