A Fire Erupted In Soyzapura Flats

fire සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලA Sudden fire has been erupted at one of a Block Buildings in Soyzapura Flats  ,Moratuwa this noon (03)it has been reported.

Two fire trucks belonging to the fire brigade of Moratuwa Municipal  Council are being deployed to douse the fire .The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.

Some Local Milk Powder producers like Plawatte Milk Powder Company has already conducted discussions with government authorities regarding this it has been revealed.It is expected to revise Local Milk Powder prices as well during next week according to reports .

Consumer Affairs Authority has given approval to increase Imported Milk Powders that produced after 01st of August 2019 by Rs.15 for 01 Kilo Gramme and Rs.5 for 400 grammes .This price increase does not affect those imported Milk Powders that are already in the market produced before the 01st of August the authority has stated .


Floating Armory Case-Attorney General Has Ordered The Acting IGP To Arrest Avant-Guard Chairman And Seven Others

Attorney General Presidents Counsel  Dappula De Livera has yesterday (02) ordered the Acting Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Chandana Wikramaratne to arrest the Chairman of the Avant-Guarde company Nissanka Senadhipathi and seven other suspects in connection with the magisterial inquiry of maintaining a floating armory by the Avant-Guarde and produced before the Galle Magistrate Court.   

Attorney General had ordered the arrest of Avant-Guarde chairman and seven others following the Criminal Investigations Department's (CID) information saying two suspects of the case including Avant-Guarde Chairman Senadhipathi had left the country before the dismissal of five fundamental rights petitions submitted to the Supreme court seeking an order to prevent them being arrested .

CID Officers Arrested 09 Persons With A Stock Of Gold Chains At Katunayake Airport

Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Officials have today (03) arrested 09 Sri Lankans who had attempted to smuggle unfinished Gold Chains weighing around 04 Kilo Grammes hidden in their luggage illegally  at the Arrival Lounge of Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspects who had arrived in from Thailand from Thai Airways flight are residents of Nittambuwa,Gampha,Kirindiwela ,Mount Lavinia and Yakkala areas believes to be  brought the stock of Gold chains from Thailand in view of selling it to the Gold Businessmen here it has been revealed .

The stock of Gold chains taken into custody in possession of the suspects are estimated as worth around Rs.20.8 million and the stock along with the suspects  had been handed over to the Airport Customs for further investigations .
