Prices Of Vegetables ,Rice And Coconuts Had Been Decreased

The prices of Essential Commodities  namely Vegetables ,Rice and coconuts are being sharply decreased at present according to the Hector Kobbakaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute .

The prices of Up Country and Low Country vegetables had been decreased due to the good rain fall experienced by Vegetable fields in Up country and Low country the Institute has stressed .The prices of these vegetables will be further decreased when the yala season vegetable harvest supplies to the market after 20 th of this month according to reports .

Opposition Leader Of Negambo Muncipal Council Had Been Remanded Until 17th Of Juky

The opposition leader of the Negambo Municipal Council Royce Vijitha Fernando who was arrested by the Katana police on Sunday over assault and looting of properties charges had been remanded until 17th of July by the Negambo Magistrate court today (08). 

The Opposition Leader representing United National Party (UNP) who is also the former UNP Organizer of the Negambp seat was arrested by the police over assaulting a Businessman and looting around Rs.7.5 million worth properties .Earlier five other suspects had been arrested and remanded over the incident.

A 24 Hour Low Pressure Water Supply To Several Areas In Colombo

The water will be supplied for Several Areas in Colombo District under low pressure for a 24 hour period from 9 a.m on This Wednesday (10) until 9 a.m on Thursday (11) due to a project which is being carried out by the Land Reclamation Authority according to the National Water Supplies and Drainage Board .  

Accordingly water will be supplied under low pressure to Colombo Municipal Council area ,Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municpal Council area ,Kotte,Kaduwela,Municpal Council areas,Maharagama,Maharagama,Mulleriyawa and Kolonnawa Urban Council areas ,Kotikawatte and Mulleriyawa Pradhiya Sabha areas and Ratmalana and Soyzapura flat housing schemes .

CID Arrested Former Army Corporal Over The Stabbing Of Former Editor Mr.Upali Thennakoon

Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Officials have arrested a former Corporal  attached

to the Army Intelligence Unit over stabbing and seriously injuring the former Editor of "Divaina " and Rivira" newspapers Mr.Upali Thennakoon ,at Hanwella area today (08) according to the Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare .

The suspect was identified as his fingerprint were among the 285 fingerprints taken from Army officers for the investigations on Former Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wikramathunge and it proves as similar to the fingerprint found in Mr.Thennakoon's Motor Car the Media Spokesman has stressed .

CID officials had collected these fingerprints as a fingerprint found from the Motor Car belonging to former Sunday Leader Editor.
