Rathana Thero who had begun the fasting campaign on last friday had ended it after the two Governors of Westetn and Eastern Provinces resigned from.their posts .

Committee appointed to probe on Easter Sunday attacks scheduled to meet for the third time today (06)at 11 a.m in the Parliamentary Complex to gather evidence.

Former Defense Secretary HemasirI Fernando and Inspector General Of Police Pujith Jayasundara are due to give evidence before the committee today.

The committee had met for the first time on 29 th of May.

Annual Main Ramadan Prayer Removed From Galle Face This Year

The annual main Ramadan prayer at
Galle Face green was not held yesterday  (05) due to the security reasons and the current political enviornment of the country it has been reported .

The main Ramadan prayer of the Sri Lankan Muslim community was held at Colombo Grand Mosque the "Dewatag aha "Mosque under tight security. All devotees arrived for the prayer had been checked by the Security personal .

The Jamayayathul  Ulama Organization has earlier requested the Muslim community of the country not to organize Ramadan prayers in an open places and playgrounds due to security reasons.

As a result local Muslims have been participated prayers at Mosques in their àreas .Security in the Mosques had been tightened during the prayers .
