A Hand Grenade Parcel Had Been Recovered From A Primary School in Baduraliya

A parcel containing 13 hand  Grenades
left near a building of a Primary school in Palinda nuwara,BaduaLiya   had been recovered last night  (23)by the Security Officer of the school.

Security officer of the primary school had informed on the incident to BaduaLiya Police and as a result Police officers along with Army Bomb Disposal  Squad had arrived in the scene and removed the hand Grenade parcel it has been reported .

Police have today (24)arrested a 32 year old person residing in Hadigalla area in BaduaLiya over leaving a Hand Grenade parcel inside a school.

The hand Grenades in the parcel had been defused by the Army Bomb Disposal unit accordance to order of Mathugama Magistrate Court  .

Authorities believes the hand Grenade parcel had left inside the primary school to create an unnecessary fear among the public in the area .

Prime Minister Had Requested Foreign Ambassadors To Lift The Travel Ban Imposed Against Sri Lanka As Security Has Been Ensured

Prime Minister Ranil Wilramasinghe
had requested the Foreign Ambassadors and High Commissioners in the country  to lift the Travel Ban imposed Against Sri Lanka by their respective governments following the Easter Sunday bombings as security in the country has been already assured and life has return to normalcy during a meeting held in Colombo today (24)..

During the Meeting Prime Minister Wikramasinghe  has briefed the Foreign Ambassadors and High Commissioners on the security situation of the country and the progress of ongoing investigations regarding the Easter Sunday attacks. 

Emergancy Law Extending Proposal Has Been Passed

The proposal to extend Emergancy
law from one month  has been passed by a majority of 14 votes in Parliament today (24).


During the voting 22 MP's have been voted in favour of the proposal Whilst 08 MP's of Tamil National Alliance had been voted against it .

MP's representing  leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP)as well as prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe and Opposotion Leader Mahinda RAJAPAKSHE were absent during the voting .
