Constitutional Council To Meet On 30 th
Constitutional Council is scheduled to
meet on 30 th of April to decide on appointing a New Chief Justice and Auditor General.to replace outgoing Chief Justice Nalin Perera whose term of office will be ended on 29 th of April and outgoing Auditor General Gamini Wijesinghe whose term will be ended on 23rd of April.
At the Meeting Constitutional Council will decide whom should be appointed for these posts from the persons nominated by President Maithripala Sirisena .
Under the 19th constitutional Amendment Constititional Council has powers to appoint suitable candidates for the higher posts in the state sector.

A Person Was Arrested Over Selling Local Arrack Liquor Without A Licence
Special Police Task Force Personal in
Suriyawewa have arrested a person over selling of licenced local Arrack liquor bottles without obtaining a licence at Sevanagala area today (14).
Special Police Task Force Personal had taken in to custody around 16 Arrack bottles in his possession.
The suspect had been handed over to the Sevanagala Police for further action.

A Motorcyclist Had Been Killed Due To A Road Accident
A 36 year old Motorcyclist had been
killed after the Motorcycle he was travelling in veering off the road and crashed in to a tree at Wilgamuwa area (Matale District)on Himbiliyakada -Veheragala road today (14).
The critically injured Motorcyclist who was a resident of veheragalagama area had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Wilgamuwa Hospital.
