Navy Have Recovered 1456.1 Kilo Grammes Of Beedi Leaves Floating In The Sea

Sri  Lanka Navy have recovered 1456.1
Kilo grammes of Beedi leaves  stored in 33 bags  floating in the sea area of Southern coast of Mannar yesterday (29).

A high speed fighter boat and mobile petrol boat belonging to Sri Lanka Navy have recovered  the stock of Beedi leaves it has been revealed .The stock might have released to the sea in view of bringing it  illegally to the country according to Navy.

The stock of Beedi Leaves are due to be handed over to Customs office in Jaffna for future course of action.

A Fire Is Spreading In Rockhill Reserve

A sudden fire had erupted in Rockhill
Reserve near imbulgoda village,Badulla this evening (29)according to the Badulla Disaster Management Center.

The fire is currently  spreading rapidly in the reserve it has been reported.

Several Army groups are being involved in dousing the fire spreading in the reserve which has natural plants and water resources .

Authorities  believes a group of persons might have lit a fire in the reserve .

Popular Veteran Sri Lankan Songstress Anjaline Gunathilake Has Passed Away

Popular veteran Songstress of Sinhala Cinema Anjaline Gunathilake has passed away today (29) at the age of 79 whilst receiving treatment at Colombo National Hospital..

The late Songstress Anjaline Gunathilake nee Lanerolle earlier had a stroke and as a result kept away from singing for sometime .

The late singer was born in 1939 in Matara and began her singing career from "Lama Pitiya" aired by Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

She began singing for films in 1958 from the film "Sohoyuro" and sang many hit songs for a large number of memorable Sinhalese Films including  "Nilla Soya",Sadahatama Oba Mage",Hithuwoth Hithuwamai",'Adare Hitenawa Dakkama" ,"Hondata Hondai ","Thushara"and "Nawatha Hamuwemu "  films .She sang nearly 5000 songs during her career.

She had received many awards for her film songs .Today is her 53rd wedding anniversary as well."MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.
