A Van Had Been Destroyed And Three Motorcycles Damaged Due To A Petrol Bomb Attack In Jaffna

A Van had been burnt and destroyed
and Three Motorcycles had been damaged As a result of throwing Petrol bombs  towards a House at Nallur In Jaffna this evening (11) by an unidentified group of persons .

The Van parked at the house had Been burnt and destroyed and Three Motorcycles parked in front of the House had been damaged As well as Windows of the House due to the Petrol Bomb attack it has been reported. A group of persons covered their faces with masks had launched the attack according to reports .

However as gates of the House closed at the time of the incident no one was injured it has been revealed .

The cause of the attack has not yet been revealed .

According to Jaffna Police several Petrol Bomb attacks towards houses had been reported from several areas of Jaffna including Nallur duting recent few days .

Prices Of Petrol And Diesel Are Up

The Price Formula revision  Committee
which met this evening (11) at the Ministey Of Finance had decided to increase the Petrol and Diesel prices as a result of the rising fuel prices in the World Market with effect from midnight tonight  .

This price increase has been done in accordance with the price formula introduced by the Finance Ministry.


Accordingly a Liter of Octane -92 and Octane -95 Petrol will be increased by Rs.6 and Rs.5 respectively and prices of Auto Diesel and Super Diesel by Rs.4 and Rs.8 per a Liter respectively.

Although the prices of Petrol and Diesel had been increased the prices of the fuel still lower than the prices that  were in may 2018 the Ministry of Finance has announced. Therefore there's no need to increase the Bus and Three Wheeler fares the Ministry has stressed .

Health Ministry To Restrict People In Outstations Visiting Govt .Hospitals In Colombo ?

Ministry Of Health is currently 
 cinsidering to restrict People outside Colombo from visiting Major Government Hospitals in Colombo as outstation Hospitals too now developed with new Medical equipment and human resource personal according to the Ministry.

Under the All Island Service necessary medical equipment and human resource personal had been distributed among rural Hospitals as well the Ministey has stressed .

Therefore visiting Hospitals in Colombo is a burden to the money wallet of the people in outstations Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has stated re entry. 

Current Drug Shortage In Government Hospitals To Be Ended By The End Of March

The Drug shortage occurred in
Government Hospitals due to the 53 day political crisis created  in last October will be ended by the end of March according to Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne .

Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has also responsible for this  Drug shortage as the Association had advised the Ministey during the crisis period Minister has stressed.At that GMOA Officers had not seen there's a  drug shortage in the making Minister has said .

Health Minstry has airlifted the essential Cancer Drugs which were out of stock at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital recently on three occasions he has stated .
