Statements Had Been Recorded From Saman Ratnapriya And Two Other Members Of "Puravasi Balaya" Organization Over A Statament

The Convener of the "Puravasi Balaya "(Peoples Power ) Organization Saman Rathaapriya
along with two other members of the Organization had given statements to Special Investigations Unit in Colombo over the  allegations made against Saman Ratnapriya regarding a statement he has made at a recent   media briefing has threatened the National Security .

Accordingly Saman Ratnapriya along with Professor Sarath Wijesuriya and Gamini Viyangoda had given statements  to the investigations Unit regarding the allegations .

The General Secretary of the "Pivithuru Hela Urumaya" Upul Nishantha has complained to the Police Headquarters that a statement made by Saman Rathnapriya during a Press Briefing held in Colombo on 06th of December has threatened  the National Security of the Country .

Podu Jana Peramuna Parliamentary Group Recently Attached To UPFA To Participate In Nrext Parliamentary Session

Addressing a Media Briefing held at the Podu Jana Peramuna Party office in Battaramulla  yesterday (14) Podu Jana Peramuna MP  Kanchana Wijesekare has stated that the Parliamentary group of Peramuna separated from United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) recently is participating in the next Parliamentary sessions as the Supreme Court has given the verdict to cancel the Gazette Notification issued by President Maithripala Sirisena dissolving parliament.

During the sessions any party can submit a proposal and see who has the majority of support in Parliament he has stressed .

Meanwhile United National Party MP Mayantha Dissanayake has recently stated all MP's belonging to UPFA who joined Podu Jana Peramuna will face a risk of loosing their Parliamentary seat as they all contested During the recent General election from UPFA ticket .













UNP Leader Ranil Wikramasinghe Due to Swear In As Prime Minister This Sunday (16)

United National Party (UNP)Leader
Ranil Wikramasinghe is due to swear in as the Prime Minister before President Maithripala Sirisena this Sunday  (16) according to the United National Party sources .

The Cabinet Ministers of the new Prime Minister due to swear in either this Sunday evening or Monday sources have said .

Around six or seven MP's of Sri Lanka Freedom Party including Wijithamuni Soyza are being expected to join United National Front government scheduled to be formed this Sunday it has been revealed.

The number of Cabinet  Ministers will be restricted to 30 accordance to 19th Amendment of the Constitution.

Meanwhile President Maithripala Sirisena had phoned UNP Leader Ranil Wikramasinghe today and discussed on the swear in ceremony

Three Professors Filed A Petition Against Former Chief Justice Sarath, N.Silva Over Contempt Of Court Charges

Three Professors have today (14)filed a
petition against Former Chief Justice Sarath N..Silva in Supreme Court  over the contempt of Court charges .

The Petitioners Senior Professor Prashantha Gunawardana, Senior Professor Chandragupta Thenuwara and Professor Hewawaduge Cyril had stated in their petition ,The former Chief Justice Silva had make statements defaming Supreme Court on 18th of October and 03 Rd of December over a matter pending in the court.

Petitioners have requested the Court to conduct a full inquiry on these statements and impose a suitable punishment against the former Chief Justice .
