Minority Government Seacrching Possibilities To Reduce Gas Prices As Well-Appointed Minister Bandula Gunawardana

Appointed Minister of International
Trade Bandula Gunawardana has stated the appointed Minority government is looking on possibilities to reduce Gas prices as well according to  the way fuel prices had been reduced .

Although not have the majority in Parliament ,The Appointed Minister of minority government has said His government is search possibilities whether can give a concession regarding Gas prices according to world market prices.

Minority government will give tax concessions to small and medium level industrialists as well Bandula Gunawardana has stressed.

However Sri Lankan Rupee is depreciating further  against the US Dollar and International Monetary Fund has suspended a scheduled loan to be offered to Sri Lanka.

United National Front Leaders To Meet President Today (02)For The Second Round Of Talks

Representatives of United National
Front (UNF)lead by United National Party (UNP) are due to meet President Maithripala Sirisena this evening  (02) for the second leg of talks to find out a permanent solution for the current political conflict .

The meeting will take place according to a decision reached at the meeting held last friday between two factions.

The talks held between UNF Representatives and President last friday at President's office in Colombo are fruitful according to the UNF member Tamil Progressive Alliance .The Alliance hope President will give a permanant solution for the political conflict by next Wednesday .

Meanwhile United National Party has announced it's leader  Ranil.Wikramasinghe is their Prime Minister who has the majority of support in Parliament. 

President Has Ordered To Extend The Presidential Commission Inquiring Irregularities In MIhin And Sri Lankan Airlines

President Maithripala Sirisena has
ordered to extend the duration of Presidential Commission appointed  to probe on Irregularities occurred in  MIhin Lanka and Sri Lankan Airlines until 15 th of February 2019.

President Had also issued a Gazette Notification in.this regard according to sources .

He has appointed the Commission on 31st of January 2018 to probe on the Irregularities occurred in MIhin and Sri Lankan Airlines between the period 31st of January 2006 to 31st of January 2018 .

IGP Has Given Promotions To 2891 In Police Department

Inspector General Of Police  (IGP )
Pujitha Jayasundara had promoted 2891 Police officers to different positions following  the interviews conducted  for them recently according to Police Media Spokesman Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekare .

These promotions had given as per the guidelines of National Police.Commission and will be effected from 31st of May 2018.

Out of this number 1783 Male Police Constables had been promoted as  Police Sargents  and 334 female Police Constables had been promoted as  Sargents he has stated. 

An Indian National Has Drowned In A Swimming Pool In Habarana

A 60 year old Indian National has been
drowned in a Swimming Pool of a Tourist Hotel in Habarana after falling to it this morning  (01).

The deceased who was a resident of United Kingdom had arrived in Sri Lanka last week with his wife for a tour  and stayed at a Tourist Hotel in Habarana area .

Appointed Premier Betrayed The People By Reducing The Sugar Tax Imposed On Soft Drinks To Entertain Multi National Companies -Dr.Rajitha Senaratne

Minister of Health of the Good governance government Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has today (01)severely condemned the decision taken by the appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe to reduce the Sugar Tax imposed on Soft Drinks by saying Appointed Premier has entertained the multi national soft drink manufacturers by betraying the people .
"I would like to request appointed Premier Rajapakshe to reconsider his decision to reduce Sugar tax imposed on Soft drinks. Around 70 percent of annual deaths occurred in Sri LANKA are due to non communicable diseases.Diabetes is the main cause .Around 10 percent of our population got diabetes and another 20 percent are at risk of getting it .SuGary foods and soft drinks are one of the  main causes  behind diabetes .It's sad to see how the new Premier has taken such a decision without knowing facts just for the benefit of multi national companies .Unfortunately some doctors unions which aware on the health problems related to soft drnks too behind the decision to reduce Sugar tax " Dr.Senaratne has stressed through a press release issued to the Media today .
