A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To Motorcycle -Bus Collision

A 23 year old Motorcyclist was killed
after the Motorcycle he was riding in colliding with a Bus travelling to Anuradhapura at Horaketiya area in Badulla -Colombo road  today (08).

The critically injured had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Balangoda Hospital .

The deceased had been identified as a resident of Ehugala In Morawaka area. 

UNP Supporters Conducted A Motor Car Parade Tooting Horns By Demanding To Convene PARLIAMENT ASAP

Heavy traffic had been reported in and
around Torrington Square this morning  (08) due to a Motor Car parade held tooting Horns by United National Party (UNP) supporters travelling from Temple Trees to Torrington Square in Colombo  demanding the President to convene the Parliament as soon as possible  and restore Democracy .

A large number of UNP Supporters had  participated the event .

The Protesters had shouted that the decision taken by the President Maithripala Sirisena to remove Constitutionally elected Premier
Ranil Wikramasinghe from.the post is  unConstitutional.

Premier Wikramasinghe too participated the inauguration of the Motor Car parade held in front of Temple Trees .

Colombo old Road had been disrupted due to a sinking of a Container Truck travelling on the road near Angoda Junction last night (07).

Due to this situation Police have advised Motorists and Public to use an alternative routes when travelling. 

A Sri Lankan Businessman Was Arrested With A Stock Of Anthuriam Plants

Airport Customs officers have today
(08)arrested a Negambo based Businessman selling flower plants, whilst attempting to smuggle a stock of Anthuriam plants from Bangkok,Thailand at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspect had arrived in from a Flight in Bangkok and has hidden the stock of Anthuriam plants in his luggage. He has not obtained the plant quarantine certificate issued by the Thailand when exporting Anthuriam and a license issued by Sri Lanka to import them it has been revealed.

The estimated value of the stock of Anthuriam is around Rs.500,000 according to Customs. The suspect had later released after imposing Rs.5000 fine on him .
