Two Cabinet Ministers And A State Minister Of Newly Appointed Government Had Been Sworn In

Two Cabinet Ministers and a State
Minister of the newly appointed government had been sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena at President's office this evening (07)according to President's  Media Unit .

Accordingly former speaker Chamal Rajapakshe had been sworn in as the Minister Of Health ,Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine ,S.B Dissanayake HD been sworn in as Minister of Highways and Road Development and Pavithra Devi Wanniarachichi as State Minister of Petroleum Resources Development.

All three New Cabinet and State Ministers Sworn in are members of United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA).

Sluice Gates Of Four Reservoirs ,A TankAnd A Samudraya Had Been Opened

Sluice gates of Four Reservoirs ,A Tank and A Samudraya had been opened since last night(06) as a result of rising water levels caused due to heavy showers prevailing in it has been.reported.

Accordingly all Ten Sluice gates of Parakrama Samudraya ,Eight Sluice gates of Rajanganaya Reservoir , Four Sluice Gates of Daduru Oya Reservoir ,Two Sluice gstes of Thabbowa Reservoir ,Two Sluice gates of Kala Wewa( Tank)had been opened .

Due to the opening of Ten Sluice gates of Parakrama Samudraya , 1400 square feet  of water per second has been released to the MahawelI River according to reports .

People living in low land areas around these reservoirs, Tanks and Samudraya are being advised to be vigilant over possible floods .

As a result of opening Eight  Sluice gates of  Rajanganaya Reservoir 8000 Square feet of water has been released per second to the Kala oya (River) and the water level of Oya  also is on the rise due to it .

Due to the rising water level of Kala Oya Eluwankulama area in Puttalam -Mannar road had been submerged and transport activities has been restricted as a result.

Water levels of Kadu piti Oya and Ma  oya too are on the increase due to heavy showers prevailing in it has been reported.

Private Bus Unions To Reduce Bus Fares By 2 Percent

Private Bus Unions are scheduled to be
reduced the Bus fares by 2 percent with effect from midnight tomorrow  (08) it has been announced .

During a discussion held between a delegation of National Transport Commission led by it's chairman  and Bus trade union representatives at the Commission today (06) Unions had agreed to reduce Bus fares by 2 percent as a result of the recent price reduction of Fuel according to sources.

However there will be no change of the minimum Bus fare it has been revealed.

Around 263 Dengue Patients Have Been Reported From The Island During First Five Days In November

Around 263 Dengue Patients have been reported ftom the island during first five days of November according to the Epidemiology Unit.

Out of this number majority which is around 75 patients have been reported from Colombo District according to the Unit.

People are being advised to destroy Dengue Mosquito breeding places which are on the increase due to the monsoon rain prevailing in most parts of the country ,in Their houses /Gardens /Institutes etc and keep a Dengue Mosquito free enviornment.


Meanwhile the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe has said that current political conflict in the country does not affect the Dengue Control activities implemented by the authorities.
