Speaker Has Taken A Personsl And Political Decision -Dr.Sarath Amunugama

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya  has decided to accept the Constitutionally elected
government till a faction shows majority of support in the Parliament  as his personal and Political Devision according to the Newly appointed Foreign Affairs Minister Dr.Sarath Amunugama .

Addressing a Press briefing held at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo this evening  (05) Dr.Amunugama has stressed that the move taken by the speaker is unconstitutional and he has no right or constitutional power legally and ethically to decide who should Be there in Prime Minister's seat.

Meanwhile addressing another press briefing the Media spokesman of United National Party Minister Harin Fernando has said now there's a no problem on deciding who will be the Sri Lanka's legal Prime Minister as Speaker has recognised Ranil Wikramasinghe as the  legal  Prime Mimister. 

Newly Elected Premier Has The Support Of Majority of 113 MP's -President Sirisena

Rajapakshe now has got the support of   majority of 113 MP's in Parliament according to President Maithripala Sirisena.

Addressing a Protest rally  "Jana Mahimaya " held in Parliamentary Round about this evening (05) to support President Maithripala Sirisena and newly elected Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe, President has said policies of United National Party (UNP)leader Ranil  Wikramasinghe are not suitable for the country and therefore he has invited both the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and Deputy Leader of UNP Minister Sajith Prrmadasa to accept the Premier Post eight months ago .However they have denied as they could not  go against their leader .

Therefore  has no other  option than inviting Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe to accept the post which he did  President has said.

Both President Sirisena and Newly Elected Premier Rajapakshe along with newly elected Cabinet members have participated the rally .

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya Says ,Till A Faction Shows The Majority In Parliament He Has To Accept Constitutionally Elected Government

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has today said
till one faction shows majority in Parliament, He will accept the previous  condition (Meant the United National Front government led by United National Party  (UNP) prevailed before appointing the new government.

Issuing a Statement regarding the current political situation of the country Speaker has stressed that 116 MP 's representing United National Party(UNP ) ,Tamil National Alliance(TNA) Sri Lanka Muslim Congress(SLMC) and Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna  (JVP) had handed over a petition to him recently stating the recent changes made in Parliament were unconstitutional and Anti Traditional. Therefore they have requested to recognise the Constitutionally elected government.

"To stabilise the country president should help me to convene the Paiament as he has verbally promised on this Wednesday  (07)' Speaker says.

As there's a continuous delay of convening the Parliament he has no other option than accepting the request of the majority of  MP's  Speaker Jayasuriya has further said.

Tamil Medium Schools In Central Province To Be Closed Tomorrow (05) Due To 'Deepavali"

All Tamil medium schools in Central
Province will be closed tomorrow (05)due to the " Deepavali" hindu festival scheduled to be celebrated on this Tuesday (06)according to Educational authorities in the province.

Schools which received the holidays tomorrow will be conducted missing classes for students  on this Saturday(10) .

Two Protest Campaigns Are To Be Held in Colombo Tomorrow (05)

Parties supporting the President
Maithripala Sirisena and newly elected Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe are due to conduct a public protest campaign  titled 'Jana Mahimaya" at Parliamentary roundabout tomorrow noon (03) from 12 noon .

The protest campaign is being organized to show the strength of the new government appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena recently it has been revealed .

Due to this protest vehicle movement will be restricted in surrounding roads of Parliament Road  according to Police.

Meanwhile governing United National Party is  also scheduled to be staged a protest campaign in Colombo tomorrow (05) by demanding to convene the Parliament as soon as possible.
