A Nigerian National Arrested Over Staying Illegally In Sri Lanka

Police have yesterday (28)arrested a 29
year old Nigerian National over the charges of staying in the country illegally without a valid passport and visas at Mount Lavinia Hotel Road.

The suspect is due to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court today (29).

Sri Lanka Medical Council Has Decided To Give An Opportunity To One Female SAITM Student To Apply For SLMC Registration

Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC)has today (28)decided to give an opportunity  to the SAITM (Malabe Private Medical Collage) graduate Mal shanI Suriyaarachchi who had won a legal battle to be eligible to get a registration at SLMC.

The SAITM Graduate has filed a case at Court Of Appeal against not giving the SLMC registration to SAITM Graduates where  the Court has given a verdict in.favour of her by ordering SLMC to give the registration.

However as the authorities have  Appealed Against the verdict at Supreme Court the Appeal was heard and finally Supreme Court too approved the Court of Appeal s order.

By respecting the Supreme Courts decision SLMC has decided only to allow the SAITM Student who had filed the case against not giving SLMC registration ,to apply for the registration.

Meanwhile Inter University Students Federation members have staged a protest campaign in front of University Grants Commission at Ward Place against SAITM this evening .
