A Minor Earth Tremor Had Occurred At Trincomalee Lagoon

A minor earth tremor with the magnitude of 3.5 to 3.8 in richter scale had occurred at Trincomalee Lagoon in wee hours of this morning  (15) according to Geological Survey and Mines Bureau.

The Tremor had been recorded  at Pallekale ,Hakmana and Mahakandarawa Earth Tremor Centers as well it has been reported.

The aftershocks of the Tremor had been received to the surrounding areas of Trincomalee Lagoon like Muththur and Kinniya according to reports.

However no casualties or damages had been reported due to the incident. 

A Body Of A Wild Elephant Had Been Recovered At Buttala

A body of a Wild Elephant had been
recovered by Wild Life officers at Kajuwatte forest reserve in vandama,Buttala this evening (15).

Wild Life officers believe the Elephant who was around 35 years of age may have died nearly a week ago due to gun shot  injuries.The body was recoverd as per the information received from a villager it has been revealed.

Wild Life officers are investigating over the incident.


A Female Was Killed Due To A Fire Erupted In A Bus

A 58 year old Female was killed due to
a fire erupted in a Bus parked in front of a House at keselbaddara ,Udugampola   in Gampaha District this morning (15).

Police officers attached to Gampaha Police arrived at the scene as per the information received  had recovered the burnt body of the female from the Burnt bus .

The deceased was identified as the wife of the  owner of Burnt Bus.However the owner of the Burnt bus was not at home when Police arrived at the scene it has been revealed.

Fire fighters attached to Fire Services Department in Gampaha had doused the fire by using a fire Bauser. A part of the house had been also burnt due to the fire

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed and Gampaha Police are investigating over the incident .
