A Key Sri Lankan Drug Smuggler Arrested In Thailand

One of the leading Drug Smugglers
wanted by Sri Lanka  W.A Saliya Perera who had received a Red Warrant to be arrested from International Police (INTDRPOL) was arrested at Bangkok,Thailand by the Bangkok Police on last Saturday (08).

The suspect who had fled to Thailand four years ago had involved in Drug Smuggling activities which can lead a  life in imprisonment sentence it has been revealed.

Sri Lankan authorities had earlier requested the International Police assistance to arrest Saliya Petera.He is due to be sent to Sri Lanka in due course.

Wikramasinghe is due to leave for Vietnam today (10) to attend the ASEAN (Association Of  South East Asian Nations)Economic Forum scheduled to be held from 11-13 th of September at Hanoi,Vietnam.

ASEAN Heads of states ,Senior Cabinet Ministers of Thailland and Republic of Korea as well as  of Global Economic Forum will participate at the Forum. More than 800 leaders representing Business ,Civil society ,Government and Media will meet  heads of states  and Senior Cabinet Ministers attending the three day Economic Forum to discuss various issues relevant to the region.

Regional Leaders will discuss on   Economic Trends and Challanges  faced by the regional countries during the Forum.

Police Department To Investigate On Distributing Contaminated Milk Packettes At Joint Opposotion Rally

Police Department will investigate on
Distributing contaminated Milk Packettes among protesters who had participated the "Jana Balaya Kolombata" Rally organized by the Joint Oposition which  held in Colombo last Wednesday (05) according to Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Pujitha Jayasundara.

The investigation will be conducted as per a complaint received from a resident of Matara District to IGP 's office he has stated.

If it proves that someone purposely distributed Milk Packettes contained poison among protesters a stern action will be taken against a person or persons who were found responsible for it IGP has stressed.

Around 30 persons were admitted to Colombo National Hospital on last Wednesday during the protest march due to falling sick after consuming Milk Packettes distributed at Union Place in Colombo.

Joint Opposotion had charged a MP attached to the Government was responsible over the incident.

Three Persons Including A Heroin Smuggler Were Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin In Their Possession

Three Persons including a Heroin
smuggler had been arrested by the Police Officers attached to Organized Crimes Prevention Division with 87.450  Grammes of Heroin in their possession at Jayanthipura Junction,Thalangama yesterday (08).

The three suspects were arrested inside a Motor Car belonging to the Heroin smuggler it has been revealed.Police officers have also taken in to custody more than Rs.178,000 worth cash and five Mobile Phones in their possession.

They are due to be produced before Kaduwela Magistrate Court. 

A Female Was Killed And Another person Critically Injured Due To A Road Accident

A 43 year old female was killed and her
Three Wheeler Driver husband Had critically injured and hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in crashed in to a wall at Rajagiriya this morning  (09).

The two critically injured were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital where the female had succumbed to her injuries after admission.

The deceased was a resident of Rajagiriya area according to Welikada Police.

The incident occurred due to  the Three Wheeler drivers inability to control the speed of the vehicle it has been revealed.
