Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Has Informed Sri Lankan Airlines To Pay Arrears Due To Pay For Fuel Supply

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC)has informed The Sri Lanka's National Carrier Sti Lankan  Airlines that if the Airlines not been able to pay the arrears of Rs.12 billion due to pay to the CPC by this Wednesday (04) it will stop the Supplying of Fuel to the Airlines.

CPC has also reminded the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) too to pay the arrears due to pay to the CPC to avoid inconvenient  situation.

A Programme Had Been Launched To Distribute Highly Nutritious Biscuits Among Estate Children To Combat Malnutrition

A programme on distributing highly nutritious Biscuits "Tikiri Shakthi"among the Estate children of the ages 2-5 years to combat the spreading of Malnutrition amongst them has been launched this morning(01)at Arapolakanda Estate in Thembuwana,Kalutara.

The Highly Nutritious Biscuits which are made by a private Company under the instructions of the Ministry Of Health will be distributed 3 times a week among the Estate Children belonging to the above age group according to the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

One Biscuit contains a daily nutrition  needed by a child it has been revealed.The sufficiant stocks of this Highly Nutritious Biscuits have been handed over to the Estate Supirintendents to distribute amongst children of the Aralaganpola estate today .

The programme of distributing these Highly Nutritious Biscuits among Estate Children will be expanded to other estates as well Minister Dr.Senaratne has stated while addressing the launching of the programme.These Biscuits should be distributed among all Estate People he has stressed.

A Brazilian National Who Had Swallowed Around 100 Cocaine Balls Arrested

Airport customs officers have today(01)

arrested a 24 year old Brazilian National who had arrived at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport by swallowing around 100 Cocaine balls according to sources.

The Suspect who had arrived in Katunayake Airport from Brazil via Doha,Qatar was arrested and handed over to the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau for further investigations according to the Customs.

After the suspect was handing over to the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau he was admitted to the Negambo Base Hospital and there Doctors have removed more than 70 Cocaine balls from his stomach it has been revealed.

The estimated value of the Cocaine Balls the suspect had swallowed is more than Rs.10 million it has been revealed.

The suspect is due to be questioned further regarding the narcotics he had swallowed.

Three Members Of A Same Family Have Been Injured Due To A Road Accident

been injured and hospitalized after the Motor Car they were travelling colliding with a high voltage lamp post infront of a Girithale Army Base in Polonnaruwa-Habarana main road today(01).

The injured were admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital for treatment.

Due to the accident power supply to the Jayantipura,Hingurakgoda and Giritale areas had been cut off it has been reported.
