Lotus Road Was Temporarily Closed Due To A Protest March

Due to A Protest march of disabled Armed Forces personal.The Lotus Road in Colombo Fort had been temporarily closed from Ceremic Junction this noon(26) it has been announced.

Police have advised the Motorists to use an alternative routes when traveling. 

Meanwhile a heavy traffic congestion had been reported at Nawala Junction since this noon due to a protest march of a group of  students attached to the Open University .

An Elderly French National Was Killed Due To A Road Accident

A 78 year old French National was killed after colliding with a Bus traveling from Wellawaya to Ella area while crossing the road in Wellawaya-Ella road this morning (26) it has been reported.

The critically injured French national had succumbed to his injuries on admission to Wellawaya Hospital.

Wellawaya Police have arrested the Bus driver regarding the incident.The accident occurred while  the deceased crossing the road to take a photograph it has been revealed.

A Female Was Arrested With 6.170 Grammes Of Heroin

Police have arrested a 25 year old female was arrested with 6.170 Grammes of Heroin in her possession at Sammetpura in Mattakkuliya area last night(25).

The suspected female who was arrested during a special raid carried out in the area is a resident of Sameetpura area.

She is due to be produced before the Maligakande Magistrate Court today(26).

A Person Had Committed Suicide By Jumping In Front Of A Train

A 45 year old person had committed suicide by jumping in front of a Train traveling from Colombo to Badulla at  Watagoda Train Station in Thalawakale area this noon(26) it has been reported.

The body of the deceased whose identity has not yet been determined sent to Lindula Hospital.

Thalawakale Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.
