Draft Bill On Recruiting SAITM Students To Kotalawala Defense University Has Been Passed In Parliament

The Special Provisions Draft Bill on recruiting of SAITM (Malabe Private Medical Collage) students to the Sir John Kotalawala Defense University in Colombo has been passed in Parliament today(20)without a vote with amendments.


After the recruitment process of SAITM Students to the Kotalawala Defense University is completed ,The SAITM Medical faculty will be legally abolished .

Medical Faculty Students Action Committee members had todau protested against the Draft Bill in front of the Parliamentary roundabout.

A Chinese Female Was Arrested Over Steeling Money Belongs To Another Chinese Female

Sigiriya Police have arrested a 25 year old Chinese Female over steeling local money worth around Rs.168,000 and foreign currency notes belongs to another Chinese Female arrived with her to view historic Sigiriya Rock yesterday (19).

The suspected Chinese Female had arrived in Sri Lanka with a group of Chinese Nationals and she had stolen the money belongs to a fellow 25 year old  Chinese Female who had stayed with her in a room of a Hotel In Sigiriya it has been revealed.

 

Customs Have Taken In To Custody A Stock Of Foreign Made Cigarettes Illegally Sent To A Local Female

Image result for stock of illegal cigarettesCustoms Officers have taken in to custody around 225 Cigarette Cartons contains 45,000 foreign made Cigarette sticks among the sea mail goods received to a Provincial Store Complex in Kurunagala yesterday (19).

The stock of Cigarettes made in Dubai was illegally sent to the address in Kantale area of a female who  had worked in Kuwait around 30 years along with other goods it has been revealed.

The estimated value of the Stock Of Cigarettes taken in to custody is around Rs.2.25 million according to Customs.
