Manager Of The Rubber Manufacturing Factory Was Arrested Over The Five Deaths Occured In Ammonia Tank

Horana police have today (19)arrested
the Manager of the Rubber Manufacturing Factory in Ballapitiya,Horana where five of the workers have died after falling to the Ammonia Tank of the factory , over not adopting safety measures .

He is due to be produced before the court.

The Rubber Msnufacturing Factory has not adopted safety measures when disposing waste water of  Rubber production process according to Police.

A worker attached to the factory had fallen to the Ammonia Tank while atempting to open the waste water pipe and fifteen others had fainted after inhalation of Ammonia while attempting to save the worker who had fallen to the tank it has been revealed.

Five of the workers died as a result of the incident and fifteen others including females have been hospitalized due to inhalation of Ammonia gas.Out of the persons hospitalized the condition of one is critical it has been reported.

Mirissa Hotel Where The Female Dutch Tourist Who Was Molested Stayed In ,Ordrered To Close

Tourism Development Authority had
instructed the management of the Tourist Hotel in Mirissa,Weligama where the victims ,A Dutch female who was sexually molested and few other Dutch and British tourists who were assaulted have stayed  .

The decision has been taken to close the hotel until an inquiry on the hotel is completed  as it has been revealed that the Hotel which running since  2011 not  obtained  a valid  licence from the Tourism Developmemt Authority.

Puttalam-Old Mannar Road Had Submerged Due To Opening Of Spill Gates In Angamuwa Tank

Puttalam-Old Mannar road had been temporarily closed this morning(19) due to the road was submerged from Eluwankulama area as a result of opening the spill gates of Angamuwa Tank  it has been reported.

Due to the closure of the road transport activities of the Road had collapsed during the day according to reports.The Puttalam-Old Mannar Road has been submerged with water  around two feet  high .
