Two Were Killed Due To Vehicle Collision

Two persons were killed and one was

critically injured and hospitalized due to a Army Truck-Three Wheeler-Motorcycle collision occurred in Kiriyankalliya area at  Mundalama area today(13).

Three of the critically injured were admitted to Mundalama Hospital and later transferred to Chilaw Hospital where two of them a Motorcyclist and a Three Wheeler passenger had succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased were identified as residents of Kalpitiya and Norochcholai areas .

Mundalama Police had arrested the Army Truck driver regarding the incident.

A Person Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack In Kandy

A 42 year old person was killed due to a

Wild Elephant attack at South Doraliyadda,in Theldeniya-Kandy last night(12).

The deceased was attacked by the Elephant while he was walking in the area it has been revealed.

Meanwhile residents of the area had protested against authorities over not taking any step to prevent wild elephant attacks by blocking the Kandy-Mahiyanganaya main road.

President Has Prorouged The Parliament

President Maithripala Sirisena had

prorouged the Parliament with effect from midnight tonight(12) through a special gazette notification .

The next session of Parliament scheduled to be commenced on 08th of May.
