Five Persons Including Two Females Have Died Due To The Boat They Were In Capsized

Five persons including two females
have died after the boat they were travelling in to pluck Lotus flowers hadelivered capsized in Periyakulam Wewa (River) in Neelaweli this morning (11).

Six persons were in the Boat when it capsized and one youth among them had escaped from the incident  it has been reported.

The deceased were residents of Periyakulam area.Neelaweli Police are investigating on the incident .

Two Teanagers Who Were Arrested Over Posting Racist And Hatred Posts In Social Media Have Been Remanded

Colombo Chief  Magistrate has today
(11)remanded the two Teanage School Boys of the ages 16 and 18 who were arrested over posting posts with Racist and hatred thoughts in Social Media pages   which led to communal violence in Kandy ,until 22 nd of  March .

The two suspects have been ordered to send to the Youth detention center at Makola until 22nd of March under the remand order after they were produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate .They were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) last week.

The two Teanagers are residents of Homagama and Minuwangoda areas .

CID has launched an investigation over the activities of two Teanagers. 

Police Have Launched An Investigation Over A Death Of A Wild Elephant

Police have launched an investigation
over a death of a Wild Elephant known as "Walga Kota"(Short Tail)whose body was found in a field at Galapuyaya,In Ethimale area as it believed the Elephant may have  killed by someone.

Several injuries including  gun shots injuries had seen on the deceased Elephant 's body the Police have stated.

The Wild Elephant was chased away to the Jungle by the villagers in Ethimale and Wild Life officials in an earlier occasion when he atempted to enter the village.

Killing of an Elephant is considered as a crime in Sri Lanka.
