A 72 year old female was committed suicide by lit

herself fire at Aralanganwila yaya-7 area it has been reported.

The deceased was committed suicide due to an illness according to the Police.She had attempted to commit suicide in previous occassions as well it has been revealed.

The final rites of the Chief Incumbent of Bellanwila

Rajamaha Temple late Professor Venerable Bellanwila Wimalaratne Thero who had passed away due to an Elephant attack ,scheduled to be performed at Sri Jayawardanapura University grounds in Nugegoda with full state honours on Thursday (08).

President Maithripala Srisena has today paid his last respect to the late 75 year old Thero at the Bellanwila Temple.

A large crowd had paid their last respect to the Thero since yesterday.

Owner And CEO Of Perpetual Treasuries Have Been Remanded until Tomorrow (05)

The Colombo Fort Magistrate Court has this evening

(04)ordered to remand the Owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysius and the Chief Executive Officer of it Kasun Palisena who were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today over their involvement in Central Bank Bond scam, until tomorrow (05).

The court order was made after the two suspects were produced before the court.
