MP Piyasena Gamage Sworn In As New State Minister Of Law And Order

The newly elected MP Piyasena Gamage had been
sworn in as the State Minister Of Law and Order and Southern Development before President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (28).

MP Gamage had elected as MP after the Southern Provincial Un`ited Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA)MP Geetha Kumarasinghe had lost her Parliamentary seat over a dual citizenship issue.

A Mother And Son Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Police Officers attached to Anti Fraud Unit of Galle Police have arrested a Mother and son over transporting 37,815  grammes of Heroin to sell at Welwatta in Galle .

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin taken in to custody is around Rs.700,000 it has been revealed.

Police Have Arrested Three Persons Over Pasting Of Election Posters

Police have arrested three persons including the former Chairman of Ududumbara Pradeshiya Saba who is contesting for the Ududumbara Pradeshiya Saba from "Podu Jana Eksath Peramuna" led by former President Mahinda Rajapakshe at Ududumbara -Kandy main road while pasting election posters over violating election laws.

Police have also taken into the Custody the Cab vehicle the suspects arrived in and 83 election posters in their possession.The suspects are due to produce before the Theldeniya Magistrate Court.
