Six Persons Were Injured Due To A Vehicle Collision On Southern Expressway

Six persons were injured and hospitalized due to a Van-Lorry collision occurred between Welipenna and  Kurundugahahat hapma area on Southern Expressway this morning(24). 

The injured were admitted to the Nagoda and Elpitiya hospitals for treatment.

The accident  occurred when the Van attempted to over take the lorry it has been reported.

Nearly 10 Out Of 1000 Sri Lankan Population Have A Stroke In Their Life Time

Nearly 10 out of  1000 population in Sri Lanka have a
stroke in their life time according to the Ministry Of Health.

Government has taken steps to control spreading of the stroke in sri lanka which caused  paralysis among higher number of local adults the Ministry has stated.

The national Stroke center is due to be established in Mulleriyawa Hospital and Stroke Centers are due to be established in hospitals island wide too Ministry has stressed.

Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Cabral Was Questioned By The Bribery Commission

Former Central Bank governor Ajith Niwad Cabral was
questioned for seven hours by the Bribery Commission today (23)over the allegation levelled against him on Greek bond issue occurred during previous regime.

After appearing before the Bribery Commission the former Central Bank governor Cabral has stated that if investing in Greece was wrong investing locally too is wrong.

Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe Was Removed From His Ministerial Portfolio

President Maithripala Sirisena has removed the
Minister Of Justice and Buddha Sasana Wijedasa Rajapakshe from his ministerial portfolio as per the request made by the governing United National Party (UNP).

The General Secretary of the UNP Kabir Hasheem has yesterday (22)requested the President sirisena to remove Minister wijedasa from his ministerial portfolio.

President sirisena had informed the Wijedasa Rajapakshe on the decision it has been reported.

The sacked Minister Rajapakshe was charged that he has supported the previous president Mahinda Rajapakshe and his family members as well as some former Ministers of previous government who have faced fraud charges by delaying taking action against them.
