Another Seven Police Officers Attached To Nanu -Oya Police Have Been Transferred Over The Death Of A School Girl

Another seven Police Officers attached to the Nanu-Oya Police have  been transferred to the Nuwara Eliya Police Station over the death of a six year old school girl who was killed after colliding with a Tipper Truck when she was crossing the road last morning(15) at Nanu-Oya.

These transfers were made to facilitate the inquiry held regarding the death of the school girl according to the authorities.

After the angry residents of Nanu Oya including tea estate workers protested against the death of the school girl last morning by blocking the main road the OIC of the Nanu-Oya Police have been temporarily transferred  to another police station as per the request of the protestors    .

 

Two Persons Including A Buddhist Monk Were Killed And Ten Others Injured Due To A Three Wheeler-Van Collision

Image result for accident graphicTwo persons including a Buddhist Monk were killed and Ten others injured and hospitalized due to a head on collision of a Three Wheeler and a Van in Punawa area on Kandy -Jaffna main road last evening(15).

Twelve of the injured including the critically injured Three Wheeler Driver and a Buddhist Monk  traveled in the Three Wheeler have been admitted to the Madawachchiya  Hospital for treatment and the two critically injured had succumbed to their injuries after transferring  them to the Anuradhapura General Hospital  .

The ten injured persons who were in the Van are receiving treatment at   Madawachchiya and Anuradhapura Hospitals   .

University Of Kelaniya Have Closed Down Due To A Viral Flu

Related imageAll the faculties of University Of Kelaniya have closed down today(16) until 27thof June due to a viral flu spreading among the University students at present the University Authorities have announced.

Accordingly University Authorities have requested the students to vacate there hostels  by 12 noon today.Prior to the closure of the university  lectures of all the  faculties had conducted this morning as usual it has been reported.

Railways Department Has Banned Individuals Walking On The Rail Tracks

The Railways Department has Re- enforced the law on
banning individuals walking on Rail tracks with effect from today (15).

A large number of persons including school children were  killed during last few weeks either after colliding with a train while taking  selfies on the rail track or by jumping in front of the train and committed suicide .


IDH Fever Hospital Has Suspended New Dengue Admissions Due To Excessive Number Of Dengue Patients In The Hospital

Due to an excessive number of Dengue Patients
warded  in the IDH  Fever Hospital , admission of new patients to the Hospital has been temporarily suspended  according to the Hospital sources.

Around 450 Dengue Patients have been reported as warded in IDH Fever Hospital at present and due to this situation Ministry of Health has decided to transfer the new Dengue Patients arrive in the hospital to the nearest hospitals like Thalangama,Wathara , Piliyandala ,Colombo National ,South Colombo Teaching (Kalubowila) and North Colombo (Ragama) Teaching hospitals.

Ministry of Health has also decided to combine the National,South Colombo and North Colombo Hospitals with IDH Fever Hospital in view of the present situation.Also high dengue intensive care units of the South Colombo and North Colombo Hospitals too due to upgrade the Ministry has stated.

Around 200 new hospital beds are due to purchase for the above mentioned hospitals in view of providing better treatment facilities for the rising number of dengue patients.
