Police Have Fired Tear Gas And Water Cannons To Disperse A Protest March Of Medical Students Parents

Police have fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse a group of parents belongs to the Medical Faculty Students Parents Association who attempted to march forcibly towards the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo against  Malabe Private Medical Collage(SAITM) this evening(24).

As the protest march proceeds, Police have closed the Lotus Roundabout to prevent protesters from marching towards Presidential Secretariat .

As the Protesting Parents of Medical Students demanding an official of the Presidential Secretariat should visit them and Police officers not agreed to their demand,Protesters attempted to clear the road blocks and march along the Lotus Road towards the Secretariat.

As a result Police have fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters .

A photo Journalist who was covering the event  had been injured and admitted to the accident service of Colombo National Hospital  due to the firing of tear gas and water cannon it has been reported.

Fifty Two Sri Lankan House Maids Who Faced Harassment In Kuwait Returned The Country

katunayake airport සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලFifty two rescued Sri Lankan house maids who faced various harassment's from their employers in Kuwait  have returned to the country this morning (24) .

These house maids have stayed at the detention center in Kuwait due to the harassment of their employers.

Another batch of 68 house maids in Kuwait who are also faced harassment is due to return to the country this noon.

A Three Storied Shop In Baddegama Damaged Due To A Fire

fire සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලA Three storied shop selling building materials in Kumme,Baddegama(Southern Province) city had severely  damaged with the materials due to a sudden fire erupted there last night(23).

 The fire was doused by the fire brigade in Galle with the help of Ceylon Electricity Board and the residents of the area this morning(24).

The cause for the fire has not yet been revealed and the cost of the damage done to the property not yet estimated .

Baddegama Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Airport Customs Arrested A Chinese Female With A Stock Of Wallapatta

Image result for wallapattaAirport customs officers have arrested a Chinese Female attempted to smuggle a stock of an expensive "Wallapatta"("Gyrinops Walla") out of the country in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport.

The estimated value of the stock of Wallapatta which use to manufacture expensive perfumes is around Rs.1,2 million according to the customs.
