A Three Storied Shop In Baddegama Damaged Due To A Fire

A Three storied shop selling building materials in Kumme,Baddegama(Southern Province) city had severely  damaged with the materials due to a sudden fire erupted there last night(23).

 The fire was doused by the fire brigade in Galle with the help of Ceylon Electricity Board and the residents of the area this morning(24).

The cause for the fire has not yet been revealed and the cost of the damage done to the property not yet estimated .

Baddegama Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Airport Customs Arrested A Chinese Female With A Stock Of Wallapatta

Airport customs officers have arrested a Chinese Female attempted to smuggle a stock of an expensive "Wallapatta"("Gyrinops Walla") out of the country in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport.

The estimated value of the stock of Wallapatta which use to manufacture expensive perfumes is around Rs.1,2 million according to the customs.

An Eighteen Hour Water Cut To Be Imposed In Several Areas In Colombo Tomorrow(24)

An eighteen hour water cut is scheduled to be imposed in Colombo -02 and Colombo -03 from 10 p.m tomorrow(24) to 4. p.m on the next day(25) due to a repair work of a water pumps according to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

During this period water will supply to the thimbirigasyaya ,Colombo-08 , Colombo-10 and Havlock Road areas with low pressure the Board has announced.

A Body Of A Lady Anesthetist Had Been Recovered From Her Official Residence

A body of a lady Anesthetist   attached to the  Nuwara Eliya base Hospital who had  mysteriously died  has been recovered from her official residence this evening(23) by the Police.   
Police have suspected that she might have killed herself .The Anesthetist who was a resident of Kelaniya  lived alone at  her official residence it has been revealed.

The post mortum of the deceased scheduled to be conducted by the Judicial Medical Officer in Kandy Teaching Hospital.
