Government Is Consideting To Close All Liquor Shops In The Country Except In Hotels-Health Minister

Government is  considering  to close all the liquor
shops in the island and restricted the sales of liquor to hotels the Minister Of Health,Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has said  in Parliament yesterday (07).

The matter  discussed in the Cabinet already  he has stressed.

Due to the heavy  consumption of liquor in Sri Lanks the non commumicable diseases spreads rapidly  and road accidents are on the incrase it has been reveaked.


28 Second Year Students Attached To The South Eastern University Were Suspended Over Ragging

Authorities have suspended 28 second year students
attached to the South Eastern University  in oluvil over ragging a group of new students of the University it has been reported .

The security guards attached to the University have arrested the 28 students who had ragged newcomers in  inhuman manner and handed over them to the University authorities .

MP Weerawansha Released On Bail

Image result for bailColombo Fort Magistrate Court has today(07) released the Joint Opposition MP Wimal Weerawanhsa who were in prison for nearly three months over misusing of state owned vehicles ,on bail .

The MP who was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital recently due to a fasting campaign he had launched was released on a cash bail of Rs.50,000 and two personal bails of Rs.500,000 each .However the Colombo Fort Magistrate instructed the MP Weerawansha to to hand over his  passport to the Court.

The MP who arrived in the Court through an Ambulance as his revised bail application considered by the Court  today was discharged by the Hospital this evening soon after he was released on bail.
