Colombo District Court Rejected A Petition Filed Against Doctors Strike

Colombo District Court has been rejected a petition
filed by a Heart Patient yesterday (06) by requesting to issue an interim order prevrnting the island wide token strike of doctors launched by the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) this morning.

However Colombo District Judge Sujeewa Nissanka had issued summons to nine oersons including the president of GMOA Dr.Anuruddha Padeniya named as the respondents  in the petition to appear before court on 04th of May to show the cause.


Tense Situation Occurred In Parliament Over The Time Allocated To Discuss On Geneva Proposals

A tense situation had occurred today (06) in
Parliament after some  joint opposition MP's have protested by stating that sufficent time is not being allocated for the debate on Geneva proposals.

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya along with Parliamentarians Dinesh Gunawardena,Dallas Alahapperuma,Anura Kumara Dassanayake,Bandula Gunawardena and Minister Gayantha Karunathilake involved in heated arguements over the matter during the sessions.

Later Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has adjourned the house until tomorrow (07).

Police Arrested A Police Constable Over Robbing A Chain In Viharamahadvi Park
