Proposed One Day Token Strike Of Train Drivers Called Off

The proposed one day token strike due to be launched by the Train drivers(Railway Engine Drivers) with effect from midnight tonight(27) has been called off following the discussions held between Train Drivers Union representatives and Transport Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva this morning(27).

The Train Drivers decided to launch the strike by demanding solutions for their service demands  including removing salary anomalies.

Two persons including a female were killed this noon

(26) due to a Three Wheeler-Van collision occurred in sembaththe area on Puttalam-Chilaw main road .

The Three Wheeler driver and a female travelling in the Three Wheeler were killed due to the accident.
