Police Had Arrested Fifteen Peradeniya University Students Over Ragging Charges

Peradeniya Police have arrested fifteen
Students attached to the Agriculture Faculty of University Of Peradeniya over ragging first year students in the wee hours of today (20).

Due to the ragging eight first year students admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital it has been revealed.

Police had arrested the students who were involving in ragging as per an information recieced that the seniors students taken a group of first year students to a house in megodakalugamuwa  area for ragging.

Joint Opposition MP Wimal Weerawansha Has Been Further Remanded Over Misusing Of State Vehicles

Imprisoned Joint Opposition MP and leader of National Freedom Front
 Wimal Weerawansha who was arrested and remanded over misusing of state owned vehicles has been further remanded until 06th  of March by the Colombo Fort Chief Magistrate today(20).

However the former deputy general manager of the state engineering corporation Samantha lokuhannadi arrested and remanded over the same charge leveled against MP Weerawansha has been released on RS.50,000 cash bail and two personal bails of RS.1 million each by the Magistrate.

Police Have Arrested Three Persons With Equipment Over Illegally Mining Gems


 

Police have arrested three persons over illegally mining gems in Bogawana ,Bagawanthalawa area yesterday (18).

Along with the suspects police have taken into custody an equipment used to mining gems it has been reported.

The suspects are residents of Bagawanthalawa area according to the Police 

Wild Life Department Arrested Ten Persons Over Hunting In Wilpattu Sanctuary

Wild Life Department officials had arrested ten persons including
eight civilians and two police officers over hunting in the Wilpattu Wild Sanctuary today .

The two police officers had been identified as attached to the Puttalam Divisional Police.

The suspects were later released on personal bail of RS.500,000 each after being produced before the Puttalam Magistrate Court.
