Education Minister Instructed Principals Of Three Leading Colombo Schools To Avoid Student Clashes In Future

Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam had instructed the principals of Ananda,Nalanda and
  D.S.Senanayake collages to take necessary actions to prevent occuring student clashes in yesterday's caliber in future during a meeting held with principals of three schools today at the Education Ministry .

If  clashes occur in future principals should take responsibility of it Minister has stressed such at the meeting .


Meanwhile Education Ministry Officials held discussions with principals of several national schools in Colombo on how to conduct forthcoming Inter school cricket matches in a peaceful manner.

Fifteen Students Arrested Over Yesterday's Clashes In Colombo Released On Bail

The fifteen students attached to Ananda and Nalanda Collages in Colombo who had been arrested over  involving in clashes  in Maradana and Punchi Borella areas yesterday (16) were released on bail by the Maligakanda Magistrate and Hulftsdorf courts respectively last night.

 
Accordingly. Ten of the arrested students produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate Court had been released after warning them and five students were released by the Hulftsdorf court on personal bails of RS.100,000 each.

The clashes between student groups in Ananda and Nalanda collages occurred over an affair between a female student of another school and a boy of one of the above mentioned schools it has been revealed

Eight students were Injured and hospitalized due to the clashes and around five vehicles were damaged it had been reported .

Three Indian Nationals Arrested And Detained Over Kidney Racket Released On Bail

Three Indian nationals who had been arrested and detained over involving in
  a kidney racket operated between India and Sri Lanka had been released on bail today (16) by the  Colombo Chief Magistrate .

The three suspects were released on cash bail of RS.100,000 each after being accepted that  they are guilty on the charge .

The three suspects were produced before the Chief Magistrate today  along with another two Indian suspects arrested and detained over the same offence.The other two suspects were ordered to be kept in Mirihana detention center until 02nd of March .
