An Empty SLTB Bus Veered Off The Road And Toppled Over In Ingiriya

An empty  Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Bus with only the driver and conductor were present,veered off the road and toppled over to a paddy field in Mahanuge area at Ingiriya this morning(13) according to reports.

The bus was travelling to Horana(Western Province) at the time of the accident and the driver and the conductor of the Bus escaped unharmed.

The accident was occurred due to the Bus driver's inablity  to control the speed of the vehicle.

A Youth Was Killed In Mahiyanganaya Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 24 year old youth was killed in Mapakadawewa area at Mahiyanganaya(Uva Province) last night(12) due to a wild elephant attack it has been reported.

The youth who was a resident in Kongashandiya  area in Mahiyanganaya  was attacked by a Wild Elephant while walking on the road with his mother it has been revealed.

However his mother escaped unharmed.

Airport Customs Officers Arrested A Chinese Female With Illegal Cigarette Cartons

Airport Customs officers have today(12) arrested a Chinese female who

 attempted to smuggle 296 cigarette cartons into the country at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport .

The estimated value of the cigarette cartons is around Rs.3 million  it has been revealed.
