A Youth Who Was Arrested And Remanded Over Making Death Threats To Three Country Leaders Through FB Released On Bail
The Youth who was arrested and remanded over making death threats to President,Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader in the Country has been released on bail today(30) by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Aruni Atygala.
The suspected Youth was released on two personal bails of Rs.100,000 each by the Magistrate after been produced before the Court today.
However the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)had opposed the granting of bail to the suspects as the investigation are still underway regarding the incident.
The case is due to be taken up for hearing on 13th of January.

Navy Have Arrested Ten Local Fishermen Who Were Illegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters
Sri Lanka Navy Personal have arrested 10 local fishermen who were illegally fishing in Sri Lankan seas off Mannar(Northern Province) by using banned fishing nets.
Accordingly Navy Personal have arrested 05 local fishermen involved in illegal fishing near Ceynor Jetty in Mandathivu and another 05 fishermen were arrested at Thalvupadu in Mannar.
The arrested Fishermen along with banned fishing nets used by them were handed over to the Fisheries Inspectors Office at Mandathivu and the assistant fisheries director's offcie in Mannar for future course of action.

Five Imprisoned Policemen Were Further Remanded Over The Killing Of Two Jaffna University Students
The fiver Policemen who were arrested and remanded over the killing of two Jaffna University Students had been further remanded until 13th of January by the Jaffna District Court Judge S.Sadeeshwaren.
The Jaffna District Judge had also rejected a request made regarding granting of bail for the five suspected Policemen .
The Judge has also directed the authorities to keep the five suspects in Anuradhapura(North Central Province) Prison and provide them the required security.
The suspected Policemen were arrested and remanded over the killing of two Jaffna University Students on 21st of October at Chunnakam,Jaffna.

Health Minister To Reduce Prices Of Essential Surgical Items
Minister Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has decided to reduce the prices of essential surgical items including Artificial Eye Lenses recommended for Cataract patients in private hospitals through a price control mechanism according to the Ministry Of Health.
Accordingly Minister Dr.Senaratne has advised the Independant Drug Regulatory Authority to prepare a price mechanism to reduce prices of essential surgical items recommended for patients.
Under this programme prices of Artificial Cataract eye lenses due to be reduced to Rs.10,000 per lense from it's current price of Rs.25,000 as a fist step the Health Ministry has stated .
Catarct lenses are imported from India for Rs.6000 per lens and sold to patients Rs.25,000 per lens it has been revelaed.As many complaints recived from Cataract Patients regarding the higher prices of Cataract lenses ,Health Minister has decided to reduce the prices of lenses through a price mechanism Ministry has revealed.

A lorry driver was killed when his lorry collided with

Weerawansha has today (29)appeared before the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) for the second consecutive day to give a statement regarding financial irregularities charged against him.
MP Weerawansha had given a statement to the FCID Yesterday (28) regarding financial irregularities occurred at Housing Ministry when he was the Minister during previous regime.
Today he had given a statement to the FCID regarding misusing of state vehicles belonging to Presidential Secretariat and providing a vehicle belonging to the State Engineering Corporation to his relatives and friends during previous regime.

Galle district (Southern Province) who participated a 1 Kilo Meter race held at Royal Collage Sports Grounds in Nagoda has died after completion of two rounds of the race this morning(29).
The deceased who was a resident of Udugama (Southern Province )area has withdrawn from the race organized by the Nagoda Divisional Secretariat after completing two rounds by stating he was not feeling well.
He died after admission to Nagoda Rural Hospital it has been reported.

Former Sprint Queen Susanthika Jayasinghe Has Been Airlifted To Colombo National Hospital From Diyathalawa Hospital

Jayasinghe who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Diyathalawa Base Hospital last tuesday (27) due to a suffering from fever believed to be Dengue ,has been airlifted to colombo National Hospital from a helicopter today according to National Hospital sources.
She is currently receiving treatment at the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of the National Hospital the sources have stated.
The health condition of the former Sprint Queen is not critical and further investigations are being carried out to identify her illness according to Doctors.
