A Fake Bomb Scare Delayed The Departure Of Colombo-Badulla Night Mail Train

The Colombo-Badulla night mail train scheduled to
leave at 8 p.m from Colombo Fort Railway Station today(26) has been delayed for two and half hours due to a fake bomb scare it has been reported.

After a phone call received to the number 119 of the Police emergancy unit stating that a parcel suspected  to be a bomb is there in a compartment of the train ,passangers of the train were evacuated and train was thoroughly checked by the Police Special Task Force personal with the assistance of the Bomb Squad and Sniffer Dogs.

However no bomb or suspicious parcel has been recovered from the Train during the search according to the sources.

After the officials ensured the Train is safe to travel ,the Train left the Colombo Fort Railway Station at 10.30 p.m.

Two Unidentified Persons Sexually Molested A 76 Year Old Female And Stolen Cash And Jewelry At Wadduwa

Two unidentified men who covered their faces have
entered a house at Wadduwa area (Colombo)and stolen two Gold ear studs and cash worth Rs.35,000 after threatening the owner of the house who is a retired teacher(80).

The thieves have fled the scene after sexually molesting  the 76 year old wife of the teacher according to the Police.

Tsunami Victims Were Commemorated

A two minute silence was observed today (26) between
 9.25 a.m to 9.27 a.m in all 25 districts in Sri Lanka to commemorate thousands of innocent people who were killed due to the Tsunami  strucked the island nation 12 years ago on 26th of December 2004.

Tsunami Commemorative Programmes were held in all 25 districts of the island today with  participation of relatives of the Tsunami Victims and others.

Sri Lanka Railway Department has conducted a floral tribute at Paraliya Railway Station this morning  to Tsunami Victims including around 2000 persons who were killed due to the Tsunami  waves while travelling in  a train at Paraliya (Southern Province)area.

A 26 Year Old Youth Drowned In Southern Seas

A 26 year old youth was drowned in the sea area of
Deveniyagoda,Rathgama (Southern Province) while bathing according to the sources.

Sri Lanka Navy had launched a search operation with the assistance of residents in the area to find the missing youth.

Two Females Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Bear Attack

Two females were injured and hospitalized due to an
attack of a Bear at a forest area of Atambagaskada in Vavuniya (Northern Province) yesterday (25) according to reports.

The injured females were admitted to Vavuniya Hospital for treatment.

According to the Police the two females were attacked by a Bear while collecting fire wood in a Forest.

A Couple Arrested With A stock Of Narcotics

 The Special Police Task Force Personal had arrested a couple in possession of a stock of natcotics worth over Rs.15 million in Colombo it h...
