Consumer Affairs Authority Has Sealed 33 Sacs Of Animal Feed Dhal Prepared To Issue For Humans At Wattale

Consumer Affairs Authority has today (27) sealed 33
sacs containing   20 kilo grammes  of Dhal each use to feed animals but prepared to issue for human consumption at a store in Wattale.

The Businessman who owned the store has a licence to purchase animal food but , he is reported as purchasing out dated stocks of dhal  which use to feed animals and issue them for human consumption.

A Sri Lankan Who Attempted To Smuggle 30 Kilo Grammes Of Silver Arrested At Katunayake Airport

The Airport Customs officers had today (27)arrested a  39 year old Sri Lankan who attempted to smuggle  30 kilo grammes of Silver into the country at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspect was arrested after he arrived  from Dubai according to the customs officers.

The stock of Silver which found concealed in his luggage is worth around Rs.2.7 million it has been reported.

Airport  Customs Officers are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Five Persons Were Killed Due To A Car- Train Collision At Wadduwa

Five Persons were killed following a car they were travelling in colliding with a train travelling from Galle to Colombo at an unprotected railway crossing in pothupitiya ,Wadduwa this evening.

The car  collided with the train while it was attempting  to cross the railway crossing it has been reported.

Ministry Of Health To Take Disciplinary Action Against Government Hospital Directors Who Are Transferring Blood Tests To Private Hospitals From 01st Of January 2017

Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has instructed the Health
Ministry secretary Anura Jayawikrame to issue a circular in the first of week of December to all government hospitals  with laboratory facilities to inform, hospital directors  who are not implementing the banning  of transferring  blood tests of patients  to private hospitals  from 01st of January 2017 will be faced with disciplinary action .

All the government hospitals in the country will be equipped with laboratory facilities by the 31st of December 2016 to fullfill the requirement of banning the transferring of blood tests to private hospitals according to the Ministry Of Health.

Health Ministry has earlier announced that all government hospitals should stop transferring blood tests of patients  for private  hospital labs with effect from 01st of January 2017.
