Thirteen Local And Foreign Tourists Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack

Around Thirteen Local and foreign tourists were
injured and hospitalized today (26)due to a wasp attack occurred at Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya (Temple) at Dambulla (Central Province).

The injured were admitted to the Dambulla Base Hospital for treatment and eight of the injured are reported as foreigners.

Two Students Died And One Was Rescued After Being Carried Away By Sea Waves At Eravur

Two students died and one student was rescued after
being carried away by the sea waves in the seas off punnakuda in Eravur area(Eastern Province) while bathing today (26) it has been reported.

The bodies of deceased students who disappeared due to the sea waves have been recovered hours later by the Navy and Police Officers.

The rescued student was admitted to the Batticaloa Hospital for treatment.

Eravur Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Colombo Magistrate Court To Consider The Case Against Shashi Weerasinghe On 08th Of February 2017

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan pilapitiya has
yesterday (25)announced that the case filed against Shashi Weerasinghe the wife of Joint Opposition MP Wimal Weerawanshe on obtaining a diplomatic passport by providing false information will be taken into consideration on 08th of February next year (2017).

The Chief Magistrate has also issued summons to witnesses of the case against Shashi Weerasinghe as per the request of Criminal Investigations Department (CID)  to appear before  court on that date.

MP Wimal Weerawanshe too faced a similar charge on obtaining a diplomatic passport during previous regime by providing false information.
