Government Decided To Settle Hospital Expenses Of Jayawardenapura Hospital For The Treatment Provided For Late Pandith Amaradeva

As a respect to the late Pandith W.D.Amaradeva President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday (03) given instructions to Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne to take steps to  settle the expenses through the Ministry Of Health which need to pay for Kotte Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital for the treatment meted out to the late singer after admitting him last morning following a cardiac arrest.

After the late singer admitted to the hospital he had undergone  urgent surgery at the hospital and for that need to pay Rs.469,000 to the hospital it has been reported.

President has given instructions to the Health Minister not to charge the hospital fee from late Amaradeva's family and the president's message was conveyed to the Jayawardenapura  hospital authorities by the Health Minister, the Ministry Of Health has announced.

Government has declared a week of national mourning  with effect from today (03) in view of  the death of veteran singer and musician Late Pandith W.D.Amaradeva the Ministry Of Home Affairs has announced today (03).

During the mourning period government offices will hoist flags at  half mast the Ministry has stated.

Water Board To Impose An Eight Hour Water Cut In Several Areas Of Colombo

National Water Supply And Drainage Board is due to impose an eight hour water cut on this Saturday (05) in several areas of Colombo from 9 p.m to 5 a.m next day (Sunday).

Accordingly the water cut will be imposed in Colombo-13,Colombo-14 , Colombo-15,Baseline Road to Kelaniya Bridge and Sea Street areas the Water Board has announced.
